Here’s one of the ugliest pitching lines you’ll ever see
Albaladejo 1/3 IP, 7 H, 5ER , 1BB, 0Ks, 1HR, 189.00 ERA!
Actaully I don’t think Albaladejo has a chance to crack the Yankee pen, at least when camp breaks in 4 weeks. There are too many veteran arms who pitched well last year: Rivera, Joba (yup, that’s where he’ll be), Marte, Robertson, Aceves, Park–that’s already a six-man pen and leaves no room for Gaudin or Mitre as swing man. But I suppose he is pitching for a chance to be the first guy called up or, more likely for the chance to pitch for another organization in a trade. I don’t want to pick on Albaladejo, but I just get a kick out of these spring training stats. 189.00 ERA! That’s staggering.
Too early to care really, but in the early going Yankee pitchers look like they they spent the winter doing anything but throwing.
